$545 towards $3,100

Welcome to my fundraising page. Thank you for supporting little Guy and all the families that struggle with epilepsy and me running all my training miles and those final 26.2 in Chicago, October 11, 2026.

Guy was diagnosed with epilepsy at age 5. He was having 20 to 30 seizures a day. We had so many doctors appointments, questions and sleepless nights. We were able to go to Boston Children’s Hospital which then recommended Guy to a top neurosurgeon in Miami for a complicated brain surgery to remove a portion of his brain that was causing the seizures. The first surgery didn’t help as much as we hoped. So a little over a year later he went in for another surgery. Guy went 56 days seizure free. Then they came back. Over ten years later I’m happy to say we have a better hold on his seizures but he still experiences them weekly and sometimes daily.

You all know I love to run and Chicago is my favorite (and lets be honest, THE best) marathon to run and running for a charity that is so close to my heart makes every run and every mile count. Help me support all the families that also struggle with epilepsy.

Guy’s seizures occur at night or early in the morning, usually coming out of his sleep. Please read Danny’s story. He passed from SUDEP. Sudden unexpected death in epilepsy. One of the greatest fears any caregiver or parent of a child or adult struggle with when caring for their loved one with epilepsy. Something I still worry and struggle with every day. Danny Did Foundation helps provide seizure detection devices to families so their loved ones can be monitored when sleeping. It saves lives. Life saving rescue meds can be administered as soon as the alert is given. Danny Did Foundation does so many other things like help fund medical costs associated with epilepsy and of course, spread awareness. Saving lives every day.

Please help me raise money for such a worthy cause. I love you all.

About Danny Did Foundation

Founded by Chicago parents Mike and Mariann Stanton in 2010 after the sudden death of their four-year-old son Danny, the Danny Did Foundations primary mission is to prevent deaths caused by seizures. The Foundation advances public awareness of epilepsy and Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP), strives to improve communication about SUDEP between medical professionals and families affected by seizures, and advocates for the mainstream acceptance and use of seizure detection and prediction devices that may assist in preventing seizure-related deaths.

Epilepsy affects 3.4 million people in the United States and 65 million people worldwide. One in 26 Americans will develop epilepsy during their lifetime. But what few people understand, including many people with epilepsy, is that seizures can be fatal. More people die as a result of seizures than from fires and sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) combined. In addition to deaths caused by drowning, other accidents, and status epilepticus (prolonged seizures), thousands of deaths occur annually from SUDEP, a fact that is little known and too rarely addressed by medical professionals and in public discussions of epilepsy. Danny Did Foundation takes its name from the last line of Danny Stanton’s obituary, written by his dad: “Please go and enjoy your life. Danny did.” We celebrate Danny’s spirit in every child and family we reach.
