As many of you may or may not know, I was diagnosed with epilepsy at the age of 8. I am grateful every day that with the advancements in medications, I am among the fortunate ones who is able to live a very healthy and active lifestyle.
This year I have made the decision to run my first marathon (pandemic pending)! Epilepsy impacts more then 3.4 million people in the US and is often an invisible illness. 1 in 26 Americans will develop epilepsy. About 400,000 children in the US have epilepsy and thousands of US deaths occur from SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Dealth in Epilepsy). One of the goals of the Danny Did Foundation is to support families affected by seizures by mainstreaming seizure detection and prediction that may assist in preventing seizure related deaths. My fundraising support is to raise money for the Danny Did Foundation in honor of kids who suffer from epilepsy.
With your help, I am confident I will reach my fundraising goal and keeping these kids in mind will help me reach that finish line (even if it may go virtual)!!
