Hi my name is Ivy. I am 7 years old and in 2nd grade. With the help of my mom, I am telling my story. When I was just 4 1/2 years old, I lost my big brother Brendan to SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy). He was 19 years old and one of the best memories I have of him is that he made me giggle, a lot! I really do not understand what SUDEP is, and my mom and dad tell me that even the best scientists are trying to better understand SUDEP, so people with epilepsy, don't die. Last year I joined my family in Chicago as we cheered for my mom and the other Team Danny Did members during the Chicago Marathon. It was exciting and fun to see all the runners! I even got to wear my mom's FINISHER medal on medal Monday! My mom tells me that the Danny Did Foundation provides gifts to families, with children or loved ones who have epilepsy, and these gifts help protect them. So I am joining Team Danny Did for their 1 in 26 Challenge in memory of my brother. My goal is to ride 26.2 miles over 2 days and raise enough money for at least three of Danny's gifts. My mom tells me it costs up to $700 for this gift (seizure detection device and service). I know Brendan would say "Way to go, Ivy!" Thank you for your kindness and support.

And remember, go enjoy your life, just like Danny did!

Thank you!

Ivy
