It's SPLASH time! I'm swimming my 4th marathon, one mile a day for the next few weeks, for the Danny Did Foundation (DDF). Once I complete this year's swim, I will have covered over 100 miles to raise awareness about epilepsy and SUDEP and provide funding for seizure detection devices for families in financial need.

Your outstanding support in 2021, 2022, and 2023, which raised $14,000 and provided life-changing devices to 18 families, has been truly inspiring. Your generosity has made a significant difference in the lives of those affected by epilepsy. Thank you for being a part of this community and for joining me in my 100th-mile swim for Danny Did.

I am proud to be a board member of the Danny Did Foundation. We receive many thanks from our seizure detection device grant recipients. Each daily swim is dedicated to one of the many families in our network and to Danny, the little boy who has helped so many.

The Danny Did Epilepsy Foundation was founded by Chicago parents Mike and Mariann Stanton in 2010 after the sudden death of their four-year-old son Danny, the Danny Did Foundation’s primary mission is to prevent deaths caused by seizures. The Foundation advances public awareness of epilepsy and Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP), strives to improve communication about SUDEP between medical professionals and families affected by seizures, and advocates for the mainstream acceptance and use of seizure detection and prediction devices that may assist in preventing seizure-related deaths.

The Danny Did Foundation takes it's name from the last line of Danny Stanton’s obituary, written by his dad: “Please go and enjoy your life. Danny did.” We celebrate Danny’s spirit in every child and family we reach.
