I'm running to Protect Kids with Epilepsy
I would love your support for Danny Did Foundation!
This year, I’m running my third Chicago Marathon in honor of my sister Kate and to support the incredible work of the Danny Did Foundation. Your generosity will help protect kids with epilepsy and prevent seizure-related deaths.
About the Danny Did Foundation
The Danny Did Foundation was founded in 2010 by Chicago parents Mike and Mariann Stanton after the sudden loss of their four-year-old son, Danny, to a seizure. The Foundation’s mission is to prevent deaths caused by seizures through:
- Raising public awareness of epilepsy and Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP)
- Improving communication about SUDEP between medical professionals and families
- Advocating for the widespread adoption of seizure detection and prediction devices to save lives
In January 2022, our world turned upside down when my sister Kate died following a catastrophic seizure. Kate lived courageously with epilepsy for 32 years, and her light touched everyone she met. She was vibrant, kind, and endlessly giving. Her loss is something I carry with me every day.
Running this marathon is my way of honoring Kate’s memory and channeling my grief into action. By supporting the Danny Did Foundation, we can help protect families from experiencing the same tragedy and give children with epilepsy the chance to thrive.
Thank you for standing with me and helping make a difference. Together, we can honor Kate’s legacy and support this life-saving mission.
Thank you for having me, Danny Did Foundation!
