I am running the Chicago Marathon in support of the Danny Did Foundation. Your gift will help protect kids with Epilepsy.

Please consider supporting my 26.2 miles for those suffering with seizures.

We are no longer accepting donations on this campaign, but there are other ways for you to support us today!

$2,505 towards $2,620

Though I am a lifelong athlete, I would not consider myself to be a long distance runner. About 5 years ago, I promised my mom that if she ever would register to run the Chicago Marathon (in my backyard), I would run it with her. Well, she is doing it in October 2019 so I am following through and will honor my promise 😬.

I thought if I'm going all out and run my 1st marathon, I'd run for a meaningful cause. I got introduced to the Danny Did Foundation through my friend, Tom. He is a real advocate for the foundation's mission and purpose: “to prevent deaths caused by seizures and to advance public awareness of Sudden Unexpected Death In Epilepsy (SUDEP)".

Some facts include:

  • More than 3.4 million people in the United States and more than 65 million worldwide are impacted by Epilepsy.
  • Seizures can sometimes be fatal - more people die as a result of seizures than from fires and sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) combined.
  • 1 in 26 Americans will develop epilepsy.
  • Thousands of deaths happen annually from SUDEP, status epilepticus (prolonged seizures), and other seizure-related causes such as drowning and other accidents.

I'll be running for the Danny Did Foundation and I've set a fundraising goal of $2,620 ($100 per marathon mile I run), so help me finish the 2019 Chicago Marathon by donating towards this great cause (and hopefully push me to finish with a time faster than my mom's 🤐).

Thank You
