As a special educator, I have worked with many students with epilepsy. Ava was a specific student of mine that I had the joy of teaching for 4 years. She is one of the most upbeat, spunky, funny, and caring people I have ever met. She does not let epilepsy define her and neither do her parents. Her parents go above and beyond trying new medications, dosages, treatments, diets, etc. to help prevent her seizures. Throughout it all, Ava and her family continue to have a positive outlook and have an unrelenting determination to find a treatment that works for her. This family has had such an impact in my life and they are my inspiration for choosing the Danny Did Foundation! Please consider donating to help prevent deaths caused by seizures by advancing public awareness of epilepsy and Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP).
