$1,877 towards $1,750

Hello friends! I've decided that I am going to run the Chicago Marathon in support of the Danny Did Foundation. When I decided I wanted to run a marathon, I knew I didn't just want to run for my own personal achievement. Having grown up with two parents that showed me the importance of running for a cause, it was a no brainer for me to run for a charity. As most of you know, I am one of the many people that suffer from epilepsy. I've been having seizures since I was young, and though my disorder is under control with medication, there is still no set cure for epilepsy. Although my seizures are scary and sometimes tiresome, they are not nearly on the level of the millions of other people that suffer from the disorder. I have always counted myself lucky for the mild case of epilepsy that I have, as I know it could be much worse. The Danny Did Foundation's mission is to raise awareness of and prevent death caused by seizures. Danny was a boy that suffered from a fatal seizure and his family set up the foundation to raise awareness. I would share more about Danny's story myself, but I know my words would not do it justice. I would encourage you to visit dannydid.org to read about his heart wrenching story and the reason the foundation is called Danny Did. My fundraising goal for this marathon is to raise $1,750. This money will go toward raising awareness about epilepsy and preventing fatal seizures. Epilepsy is more than just the occasional, it's an incurable disorder that affects millions of people. One way to help our community out is to donate to this incredible cause - even if it's just $1! Thank you so much for your support!
