$3,702 towards $3,500

At last year's Chicago Marathon Team Danny Did raised over $115,000 towards epilepsy education, due to the tremendous support from people like yourselves. However, much more can and needs to be done regarding epilepsy.

I have decided to run my second marathon with Team Danny Did this year on October 13, 2019 because it is great way to support a great organization and simultaneously promote epilepsy awareness.

Our son Teddy has been seizure free for a significant period of time, and for that Kelley and I are grateful. Unfortunately, many parents that I speak with have children who suffer from routine seizures that medication cannot control. There is much more to be learned about epilepsy, for example doctors often do not have a clear understanding of why or how certain medications work and why they may work on one person and not another. Good Morning America reported in the beginning of July that actor Cameron Boyce, who was only 20, died suddenly from a seizure. Perhaps this report would have not caught my attention, but for Teddy's epilepsy, but it was another reminder of how scary epilepsy can be and the progress that needs to be made in its treatment, stigmatization, and research.

We are all asked to support various worthy causes and it is always hard to reach out to family and friends to ask for their support, but DDF is truly an unique organization that does a tremendous amount of good for those with epilepsy and their families.

Thanks for giving thought to supporting me in my run to support Teddy, DDF, and its mission!
