I am running my first half marathon and have decided to dedicate this run to a little boy named Danny who lived in my neighborhood. Danny had epilepsy and was taken at the age of 4 by Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP). After his passing his parents started a foundation with the mission to prevent deaths caused by seizures.
I grew up watching Danny's foundation grow too. They have held many events in Chicagoland and you may have seen their billboards or heard their PSAs. My family, and specifically my dad, has supported this foundation throughout the years. My dad has run the Chicago Marathon for Team Danny Did many times. Now, it is MY turn....I will be part of Team Danny Did! I am fundraising for Danny's foundation and will be supporting their programs which protect kids with epilepsy.
